Gordon C. Willis Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Gordon C. Willis Memorial Scholarship Fund (formerly known as the Eastern Diocese Scholarship Fund) was prayerfully conceived in 1988 as a means to assist our young people in their pursuit of academic excellence. A scholarship committee was appointed and assigned the task of developing the rules and the scholarship application. Dr. George Thompson served as the first president of the scholarship fund.

In July 1993 following the sudden death of Deacon Gordon C. Willis, it was proposed to the body that the name of the scholarship fund be changed to the Gordon C. Willis Memorial Scholarship in recognition of Brother Willis' devotion and dedication to the work of the Lord.

The scholarship fund had a challenging beginning; however, the Lord's blessings have allowed us to be consistent in awarding scholarships

This year's application deadline is Saturday June 09, 2012
